Last year I meet a gentleman at a bridal show in Raleigh NC who stole the show. How you might ask, well he simply brought in a few models to display his designer dresses. We are were stunned by his style of fashion and approach. Theses dresses were what you typically would see at David’s Bridal and that is what really stood out at the show.
I got this gentleman’s business card and had that we could coordinate sometime in the future. Well, 2014 rolled in and Sonique contacted me and asked if I wanted to do a shoot. Who wouldn’t, I asked, but this would be something out of the norm for me, I explained. I typically work with couples and this would involve working with models. The modeling world is rather foreign for myself.
Sonique seemed to understand, so we meet up and things to underway. I was a bit nervous when I arrived on location the Imperial Centre in Rocky Mount. I’d had never shot at that location and I had never worked with models both worked to my disadvantage, but I at least wanted to give this a try.
Time went by during the shoot and I found out quickly that this type of shooting requires time. Time for preparation; perfect make-up, hair, posing and wardrobe changes. I felt like I had just finished a wedding at the end of the shoot, but I was super excited and honored to have been given the opportunity to try something different.
Would I do it again? Of course. The next time, I’ll be more prepared and I’ll certainly know what to expect.
