[ DEXTER + RASHIDA ]

I had been called on to capture this moment in time for Dexter and Rashida over a year ago, when this young couple began to plan for their wedding. This couple has known each other for a while.  They established a great friendship/relationship the over years before finally tying the knot on June 11th, 2011.

Dexter and Rashida Thomas chose to have a beautiful summer wedding in the month of June.  The chocolate and sage blend of colors created a theme that one would expect from a magazine.  I was really pleased with the detailing and precision that they put into their planning.  This type of precision inspired me to capture those details and to apply that same type of precision to the shoot as the day progressed.

I have to admit, that I may have gone overboard on my precision technique when I convinced the Bride & Groom to add a shoot at the City Lake (Rocky Mount, NC) to their itinerary.  I forgot to figure in the June summer heat as a factor before doing this type of shoot; but everyone seemed to cooperate to their maximum capacity. Thank you ladies and gentlemen! This in turn gave us some great outdoor additions to spice up the couple’s special day.

Everyone had a blast at the reception, but the after reception personal shoot with the couple, really kicked things up a notch.  The Bride & Groom really let loose as we shot their final candid shots in the lobby of the reception area.  I think everyone had such a great time, that no one wanted to go home after it was all over.   Man, what a time!
